Lilah’s story

Lilah from Penrhiwceiber was first admitted to the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA on the 27th of September).

Vickie and Freddie's story

Freddie from Brecon was a happy, healthy three-year-old when three common viruses attacked his heart, causing him to go into heart failure.  

Twm's story

Twm has haemophilia, a rare condition which means his blood doesn’t clot properly. Even a small injury can lead to serious bleeding, and in Twm’s case, this has had life-changing consequences.

Marnie’s story

Four-month old Marnie was born with gastroschisis, a birth defect where a hole in the abdominal wall causes a baby’s intestines to grow outside of the body.

Hallie-Mae’s story

In 2025, Hallie developed a limp. Investigations into its cause were ongoing and on the 11th of September that year, Hallie walked into hospital for an MRI under general anaesthetic. When she woke up, Hallie was paralysed.
