Let's make life better for children in hospital

We're raising money for a cause close to my heart and would love your support. The goal of the Noah’s Ark Children's Hospital Charity is to create brighter todays and better tomorrows for the 73,000 children cared for at our nation's children's hospital each year. The charity ensures that treatment and outcomes for children can continue to improve by funding new and innovative medical equipment and facilities. It supports children and families in the here and now through its emotional support service and the much loved play specialist team and it invests in the future by providing technology that helps train the bright clinicians of tomorrow. Noah's Ark also strives to make the hospital a less frightening and more familiar place for children by sprinkling a little fun and happiness into hospital days. As a charity that relies entirely on donations and gifts in Wills – this is all only made possible with all our help.

Our son Albert came into the world earlier than expected, and from the very beginning, his journey hasn’t been an easy one. What should have been those simple, precious newborn moments quickly turned into hospital stays, monitors, and constant worry.

Albert was born with a condition affecting his nose and breathing, meaning something as natural as feeding and breathing — things most of us take for granted — became a daily challenge. We’ve spent weeks in and out of hospital, watching him fight through discomfort, struggling at times to breathe, to feed, and to settle.

There have been nights filled with fear, listening to every sound he makes, watching his chest rise and fall, hoping and praying he’s okay. Moments where we’ve felt helpless, exhausted, and overwhelmed.

But through it all, Albert has shown us what true strength looks like.

Despite everything, he smiles. He fights. He keeps going.

And we wouldn’t have made it through without the incredible support of the children’s hospital — the doctors, nurses, and specialists who have cared for him, reassured us, and helped him get stronger every single day.

That’s why I’m taking on this run — for Albert, and for every family who finds themselves in a hospital room instead of at home, facing the unimaginable.
